We are enthusiastic amateur photographers who started sentiam because we were frustrated with existing alternatives for displaying photographic enlargements.

Like many photographers, we're able to produce larger numbers of high quality photos with advanced digital cameras, and enjoy displaying the best of them, or giving them as gifts. We also enjoy viewing others photographs displayed in a simple manner that enhances the image.

But we prefer not to use conventional framing for photographs, because the glass immediately degrades that beautiful image by creating reflections and reducing contrast and color saturation. Traditionally, glass was viewed as necessary to protect the expensive print. Today, however, photo papers are fade-resistant for decades. Also, large format photos are inexpensive to print, and the digital original can be used to generate a replacement print if it were ever necessary.

So we began thinking about alternative approaches, focused on offering beautiful photographs, displayed in a way that enhances the viewers experience of the image. The result is a portfolio of beautiful photographs, together with a photographic display system based on three key principles:

  • imagequality
    • Photographs are displayed without glass, minimizing reflection and image degradation.
    • Advanced technology produces an extremely high quality print.
  • designexcellence
    • Innovative designs are enabled by unique materials and advanced fabrication techniques.
    • The product creates a floating appearance that emphasizes the image.
  • mountingflexibility
    • A patent-pending magnetic system makes it easy to display and change pictures.
    • Horizontal images can be displayed on either wall or desk.

Our first offerings based on the sentiam display system are photographs mounted on acrylic panels in sizes ranging from 5"x15" to 15"x30". The panels can be displayed on the wall with our patent-pending magnetic wall float mount. Horizontal panoramas of size 5"x15" can also use the magnetic float desk mount. Over time, we will expand the scope of our offerings by introducing more photographers, more formats and sizes, new designs, and additional services.
